Alpine huts near the Berghotel Hauserbauer

You can reach these alpine pastures on foot from the hotel:

  • Hauserbauers Gipflstadl (2,033m): the famous “Kaiserschmarrn” is definitely worth a visit and shall never be missed!
  • Hauserbauer Alm (1,552m): currently not managed
  • Steinerhoochalm (1,550m): The Meikl family is known for their excellent Blattlkrapfen (not always available)
  • Heumoosalm (1,618m): the dairymaid spoils her guests with hearty homemade delicacies
  • Grabnerhütte (1,717m): ideal for shorter hikes and the perfect destination after the MTB or hiking tour (Hauserbauer-Heumoosalm-Grabnerhütte- via the middle station back to the hotel)
  • Wengeralm (1,650m): "the restaurant on the mountain" rustic and good
  • Mühlwinkelhütte (1,208m) ideal for a walk approx. 20 minutes from the hotel

  • Amoseralm (1,198m): easy to reach from Unterberg. Be sure to try the plum pancakes
  • Kögerlalm (1,360m) - not only snacks are available at the Kögerlalm, a rich menu awaits you
  • Heinreichalm (1,688m) - also visit the Heinreich Chapel!
  • Präau Hochalm (1,811m) - one of the most rustic alpine pastures in the Gastein Valley!
  • GAMSKARKOGELHÜTTE 2,467 m - approx. 1.5 h walk from the Rastötzenalm. Founded in 1828, the hut at the summit of the Gamskarkogel is the oldest mountain hut in Europe and offers a rustic flair.
  • BIBERALM 1,734 m - popular destination for hikers and mountain bikers on the western side of the valley of Bad Hofgastein. The products are home-grown and the freshly made doughnuts and cakes are a sweet recommendation. There is also a small playground and animals for the little ones to stroke.
