The Rohrmoser family welcomes you

The Rohrmoser family has been spoiling their guests at 1,080m above sea level since 1959. Anna & Georg Rohrmoser started with a small snack bar and the rental of a few rooms.

In 1990, son Georg and his wife Christine took over the snack station and expanded it into a 4-star mountain hotel with great passion and dedication.

Whether in the kitchen, in the rooms, in the restaurant or at front desk - the hosts can be found everywhere and strive to ensure the well-being of their guests from morning to night. With passion and dedication, they can always be found at the Berghotel Hauserbauer.

Their two daughters Manuela and Alexandra also grew up "in the middle of the hustle and bustle". They were able to spend a wonderful, carefree childhood in the beautiful “Bergl” plateau high above the valley. Surrounded by animals, farms and meadows - that must be the dream of many children and parents. Together, the two sisters have now taken over the business in the 3rd generation and are full of energy and ideas for the future at Hauserbauer

history

Everyone starts small...

... but certainly Anni & Georg Rohrmoser would never have expected the small farmhouse inn to develop as it did.

It all began in 1959 with a small farm in rustic Dorfgastein, right at the entrance to the Gastein Valley, at 1,080m above sea level. Back then, the way to the farm was still difficult. But the guests appreciated the simple, good cuisine, the idyllic location and, above all, the hospitality of the innkeepers. The course was set for the restaurant business. Anni & “Schorsch” as he was called had the pleasure of sharing many amusing moments with their guests.

Thirty-one years later...

..."Christine & Georg jun." took over the helm and no stone was left unturned:

1990

It soon became clear that the inn's hall was no longer up to date. The large "hall" was turned into many small, cozy rooms.

1993

The front room also had to be adapted to the rest of the extension. At the same time, a small bar was installed.

1998

We also wanted our destination to be more attractive for children. That is why the playground was renovated and redesigned.

2000

What could be nicer than spending a sunny day on a cozy terrace? That's what many of our guests think, and soon the terrace became too small. By enlarging and redesigning the terrace, we now have our own "box seat" at 1,080 m above sea level.

2002

After many small projects, it was time for a big change. Christl & Schorsch knew exactly what this should look like - "wellness and relaxation in the mountains". The number of beds was increased from 18 to 52, and the inn was expanded to include a rustic alpine wellness garden, giving it a real "hotel character" for the first time..

Not to be forgotten is the heating, which was converted from oil to wood chips this year.

2003

Daughter Manuela returns from her educational years away to the "new" Berghotel Hauserbauer with a lot of experience and a whole suitcase full of ideas.

2004

We expanded our family business to include a small ski hut at the summit of the Fulseck. Together with the Unterkofler carpentry shop from Großarl, which had also helped us with our previous constructions, we built the Gipflstadl, a cozy hut at 2,033 m above sea level with a great panoramic view.

Now the “old rooms” in the hotel also had to be renovated so that everything fits together again.

2007

We have built a “home” for the wood chips. Our depot for the wood chips is now located in front of our small district “Bergl” on the right-hand side.

2011

Since May 2011, we have been welcoming our guests in the new reception area with a comfortable lobby. The rustic bar and the cozy ambience of the new restaurant immediately invite you to linger.

2012

An important year for everyone who loves their car, just like the manager of the hotel. From now on, we have a free space in the carport for each room in the hotel, protected from wind and weather, so nothing stands in the way of a carefree holiday.

2013

After building the wood chip heating system in 2002, we are no longer able to ignore the issue of sustainable energy supply... We are continuing with a photovoltaic system. The sunny location of our hotel is perfect for our project. Luckily, we already built the ideal place for our 25 KW system in 2012 - so the carport has a double benefit for us.

2015

Safety comes FIRST! Since October 2015 we have installed a full fire alarm system in our mountain hotel. In the event of a fire, the source of the fire can be identified quickly and easily.

On August 7th we are welcoming the first offspring of the next generation, Matthias, into our family. His parents Manuela and Markus and the entire Hauserbauer family are overjoyed.

2017

Since July 2017, we have been offering all our guests (both restaurant and hotel) an electric charging station for free use. You will find this well protected under our carport.

Also NEW this year - a beautiful pine sauna matching the rustic, cozy style of the Alpine wellness garden.

2018

On November 11th, little Victoria, daughter of Alexandra and Alexander, was born. This was also the year in which Alexandra decided to fully join the family business.

2019

Joy and sorrow are often very close together:

Right at the beginning of this year, on January 2nd, we were able to welcome Johanna, the daughter of Manuela and Markus, into our hearts as the youngest member of the family for the time being.

Unfortunately, the rest of the year did not go quite as we had imagined: On May 23rd we had to say goodbye to our beloved "Grandma Anni", who passed away peacefully at the age of 86 surrounded by her loved ones. We will forever carry the many experiences and beautiful moments with her in our hearts and continue her work with pride.

2020

If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. This very special "C" year certainly didn't put us into a deep sleep. Due to a few mandatory breaks, we used our energy to think about the future of the house builder, as well as a LOT of family time. A new project was born and was able to be implemented the following year.

We use the short breaks in between to remodel the bar and restaurant, redesign the children's playroom and also expand the lounge.

2021

The year starts again for us with the most wonderful present in the world. Little Vincent (from Alexandra & Alexander) will now share his birthday with Johanna (from Manuela & Markus) on January 2nd.

We were finally able to implement a big project close to our hearts. An extension with some new panoramic rooms, as well as a wellness area, fitness room and an outdoor pool heated all year round with indoor access is being built behind our "main building". The Bergseit'n is connected to the main building via a glass all-weather bridge. Hauserbauer Bergseit'n opened in December 2021.

2023

From now on, Manuela & Alexandra will officially and jointly follow in their parents' footsteps and take over the family business.

2024

The outdoor children's playground is being renovated. There will be a large slide with a climbing rope tunnel, new go-karts and a covered play area.

202?

We are excited to see which of our dreams we will be able to realize next.

Quotes

It certainly wasn’t always easy,

but with a common goal in mind, the necessary ambition and the solidarity of the whole family, the house builder became what he is today.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank
everyone who always supports us so actively!
